The exterior of the house is entirely new and all but three windows are new Kolbe and Kolbe wood windows.  The new roof is a high-end dimensional asphalt shingle.
The new kitchen was designed around a 5' square butcher block island and includes custom cabinets with concrete countertopslarge appliance garage, recycling center, stainless steel vent hood and undermount stainless steel sink.  The kitchen is open to a dining area with a new stone-faced raised fireplace and has a 5' x 12' walk in pantry and a 6' x 15' mud room has been added.  A wall was removed in the living area to create a 25' x 18' living room that retains and reproduces the original coved ceiling. The large, covered front porch was added and the front door is custom 42" wide solid alder with glass sidelite.  The kitchen area is tiled with 20" x 20" imported ceramic tile and the living area's original wood floors were refinished.
The upstairs is all new construction and includes:  a home office, sloped ceilings, a master suite with walk-in closet and custom master bath.  The bath features two Velux operable roof windows, a wall-hung Italian ceramic sink, a built-in 42" x 72" tub with air jets and LED lighting, a walk-in shower with rain shower head and hand shower.  The entire bathroom, tub deck and shower are tiled.  The floor tile is California slate.  The fifth bedroom is a home office and all of the new construction is wired with cat-5 and coaxial cable with a distribution center in the pantry.  The office has an exterior french door with balcony.
The new stair has oak treads and risers for the first four steps and a custom design for those four open treads.  The stair terminates in an upstairs hallway that features two large Velux operable roof windows and a sitting area.  All of the doors and windows are fully wood trimmed in custom moulding.
Since the upstairs is new construction, the roof insulation is up to date R-38.  Other energy features include ceiling fans in all new rooms and energy efficient lighting (All lighting is either high-efficiency halogen or daylight spectrum compact fluorescent).
